OVERVIEW
A Leg To Stand On (“ALTSO”) is non-profit organization, that provides free orthopedic care to children and adolescents with limb disabilities in the developing world. The Joshi is provided free of charge to children and adolescents from families that cannot afford treatment. They came to Prime Studio to ask if we could help with their packaging - which had never really been designed, it was just a random collection of bags and boxes. We believed in their mission so we offered to do the project pro bono and we created for them an efficient and streamlined packaging system..

Best foot forward
When designing Joshi's packaging, our aim was to keep it straightforward and clean, using materials that are both eco-friendly, cost-effective and suitable for production in India. Joshi is a modern, modular prosthetic limb designed for everyone, so we wanted the packaging to reflect that simplicity but also be appealing to the kids that were receiving the orthopedics for an experience that quite literally changes their lives.
We focused on using sustainable and recyclable materials, ensuring the packaging protected the product enough during transport. And we developed a modular system for maximum space efficiency in crowded medical clinics. We also considered the ease of unpacking for medical staff, aiming for a design that could be reused without compromising its integrity.
