BRIEF

Welcome to Allergy Care

Nectar’s approach combines personalization and convenience by analyzing sensitivities to 40 top allergens and custom blending sublingual drop medication. Their approach tailors treatment to each individual, guiding patients toward long-term allergy relief based on specific needs and health profiles.

PROCESS

Designing at-home Allergy Testing

Nectar approached us with concerns about their current packaging, which needed an engaging way to introduce users to at-home medical testing. We began our process by considering how patients should feel when unboxing these test kits. As we pricked our own fingers with dread and frustration, we came to the conclusion that users should be excited to start their allergy treatment, while also feeling confident and comfortable performing the test at home.

After hearing great things about Nectar and its at-home testing kit I decided to give it a try and finally get some answers. The kit arrived very fast. They provided instructions that were extremely simple to follow and I was surprised to find out the whole process only took a few minutes!

PARUL

AMAZON USER

We designed a comprehensive solution that guides users step-by-step through each phase of the Nectar allergy system. From the initial test kit, through the ramp up of the treatment, and eventual long term use of products, we designed every touchpoint and interaction.

To start, the initial test kit welcomes users to the brand with warm messaging, and a clear guide to ease them into the process. We grouped each item in accordance with its use, and designed a custom 2-1 work mat/ instruction guide to provide a sterile area and an engaging instruction.

We were also tasked with redesigning the primary packaging for their treatments, which take the form of sublingual drops and nasal spray. As opposed to most medications, we wanted to design something that people would feel confident leaving out on their vanity. Taking cues from fragrance and beauty care, we designed a custom glass bottle that serves as an ownable element for the brand, and an ergonomic format that aids in use.

Another key step to on-board users onto their innovative treatment is a 3 month “ramp up“ phase, in which users need to steadily increase the medication month to month. We took this as a challenge to use the packaging design to help tell this story. We designed a custom tray and shipper to highlight this system, and an adherence guide to help users stay on track.
