Robinson Home Products came to Prime Studio for our expertise in Brand Development to create a line of kitchen tools and gadgets to tie-in with the 75th Anniversary of the renowned cookbook "The Joy of Cooking."
In creating a 3D Design Language for this well-loved brand for the first time, we wanted to stay true to its heritage and history, while making sure it had a fresh, modern appeal. Most importantly, it was necessary to create tools as useful and trustworthy as the cookbook itself.

We conducted an analysis of the brand, and developed a master mood board that was used to both explain our positioning to the client and licensor and to be visual inspiration for our designers. Our final design language utilized a sculpted free-flowing handle in white and red, offering a fresh, modern take in a crowded category, with nickel end cap accents to denote tradition and quality.

Of course, good looks are only one part of a successful kitchen tool so we worked hard to fine tune the ergonomics and functionality through multiple models and prototypes. The end result was a line of 40+ tools which expanded "The Joy of Cooking" from a trusty cookbook to a faithful aid in all parts of the cooking process.
