Together with our partners Ultraflex International, Adept Engineering and a team of research scientists at Stony Brook University, we are developing a modular instrumentation system for conducting multiple assays based on fluorescence detection technology. The system provides extremely sensitive and accurate multiplexed data acquisition at an exceptionally attractive price for molecular biologists and researchers.

Prime Studio has been involved at all stages including human factors analysis, observational research, producing multiple test models, all CAD development and final prototyping.

The Genometrica system relies on presenting complex technology in an intuitive package. An important part of our role was to think about the end-user experience. The scientists who have developed the technology over the last 5 years are so close to the project that it’s hard for them to put themselves in the position of a lab technician confronted with these units for the first time - That's where we came in.

At Genometrica's very first trade show, 15 customers signed up to purchase and test the first Beta units. This number might not seem so impressive - until you learn that each unit costs in the region of $29,000.
