Robinson Home Products came to Prime Studio for our expertise in brand development to create a line of kitchen tools and gadgets to tie-in with the 75th Anniversary of the renowned cookbook brand "The Joy of Cooking." In creating a physical design language for this well-loved brand for the first time, we wanted to stay true to it's heritage and history, yet give it a fresh, modern appeal. Most importantly, it was necessary to create products as trustworthy as the cookbook.



We conducted an analysis of the brand, and developed a master mood board that represented current consumer perception. We then performed a series of color studies and ergonomic tests to help us refine our design aesthetic. White and red for a fresh, modern take on a crowded category, with nickel end cap accents that denote tradition and quality. Working alongside our vendors, we fine-tuned each piece in order to ensure maximum quality.


A line of 40+ tools designed to enhance the home chef's performance. We made sure to concentrate on the details (silicone overmolding to eliminate food traps, pour spouts on the measuring cups, a cast-metal ice cream scoop designed for the ultimate scoop) to create high quality products with a reasonable price-tag. Not only are these pieces stylish, they are ergonomic as well. "The Joy of Cooking" has been expanded from a trusty cookbook to a faithful aid in all parts of the kitchen.
